A word from our founder

Why Fluent Academy exists

Lily Chaar founded Fluent Academy. She lives in Paris, holds degrees in sociolinguistics and philosophy, and is an accredited DELF/DALF examiner -certified through France Education international, the French Ministry of Education’s operator for official French-language certification worldwide.

“I started Fluent Academy after watching people do everything right – show up, study, try – and still feel like strangers to French. The problem was never them.It was how French is usually taught: rushed, impersonal, disconnected from real life.

So I built a different kind of school – small classes, real teachers, and a method where everyone in the room is known. Most people come to us after trying everything else. What they find isn’t a shortcut. It’s the first time French feels like some where they belong.
